What is OTHISMOS?

OTHISMOS is a tabletop wargame designed to be used with 10-28mm scaled miniatures. Two players assume the roles of army commanders in any conflict (real or imaginary) from antiquity to the 1300s AD.

Why play OTHISMOS?

You want a casual, flexible ancients wargame.

The rules are intended to be memorable and easy to pick up: everything is dice rolls and simple math.

What Inspired OTHISMOS?

OTHISMOS was inspired by my desire to build a simple, streamlined wargame in the vein of "Hail Caesar" and "Kings Of War". The rules are simple enough that you can house-rule on top of them to build almost any kind of scenario you want.

What Is Required To Play?

Playing OTHISMOS requires the following:

1. A copy of the OTHISMOS rules for each player.
2. A 6' x 4' gaming table.
3. A handful of six-sided dice for each player.
4. A measuring tape or ruler.
5. Enough 10-28mm miniatures for each army:
   • Idaally, miniatures are modelled with the weapons they are equipped with.
   • The rules are miniatures agnostic, meaning you can use any models from any manufacturer as long as they generally fit the same theme.
6. Enough miniature terrain to obscure lines of sight up to 50% in all directions.
